Senior UNIX/Network Systems Administrator, ask.com, Bedford, MA 2000 – Present

Implement and administer dynamic and rapidly growing large scale UNIX/Linux server environment supporting international operations across multiple data centers. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing and service level agreement terms, coordinate projects and secure resources. Operate Cisco networking hardware and Solaris systems (Ultra 5 and Netra series up to E6500) and design and operate customized traffic and uptime monitoring systems for more then 15000 nodes. Write RFPs, compile process, policy, and procedural documentation and train technicians to operate and administer load balancing and DNS systems.

Designed and built IT infrastructure from the ground up, overseeing massive growth initiative that expanded the office from 15 to 150 employees within a 2-year period.
